Bilingual Learning Communities
YCYW Bilingual Learning Communities is an innovative educational philosophy that takes a student-driven and collaborative approach to learning and learning through languages. Our program goes beyond disciplinary boundaries and encourages exploration of their interests and passions. We bring together students, teachers, and families to create a supportive and engaging learning environment that fosters bilingualism, cross-cultural understanding and academic excellence. In practice, it comprises four key elements, known as BLC ABC&D, namely A for Active Agency, B for Bilingual & Multilingual Learning, C for Cognitive & Collaborative Enquiry, and D for Dynamic Curriculum. These elements have been further elaborated in the documentary titled “Learning Beyond Borders: The BLC Experiences” and the BLC ABC visuals with descriptors highlighting Primary and Secondary student’s and teacher’s behaviors.
