The Art of Goal/Target setting with learners

By the end of this session you will be able to-

• Write targets under 2-3 discrete headings
• Use your understanding of target setting to challenge established strategies
• Plan for how to introduce and project manage target setting for learners to ensure all are appropriately stretched and supported

The session plans to address the following common concerns-

• Targets are often vague and fail to motivate or challenge learners
• Teachers do not  involve the learners well enough in setting their own targets, so that learners understand how to improve
• Too many learners are unsure about what targets have been set and how their progress will be monitored
• Teachers do not set meaningful targets for learners
