Overview of the Course:

This is an exciting time to begin your YCYW Online Korean course. This course will offer you a comprehensive, skills-based class that will develop your writing skills for a wide-range of contexts. The literature portions will not only develop our analysis and synthesis skills, but allow us to dig into the Korean canon and explore the times periods these texts were produced.

한국어 온라인 과정은 다양한 텍스트와 그에 대한 접근 방식을 통해 학생들의 읽기와 쓰기 능력을 향상시켜 줄 것입니다. 이 과정을 통해 습득한 교과과정 능력과 기술을 바탕으로 학생들은 IB Korean 과정을 대비할 수 있도록 다양한 문학작품들을 지속적으로 학습, 분석, 감상할 것입니다.

Course Objectives:

· To provide a Korean Language and Culture support programme for the Korean community at YCIS Pudong Secondary School.

· To include the course as part of each student’s report so that performance in Korean language is recognised on school reports.

· To use the YCYW Online platform for the programme.

· 정확하고, 적절하고 효과적으로 쓰기를 통해 의사소통을 할 수 있도록 함

· 자신이 읽은 바에 대해 적절하게 이해하고 반응할 수 있도록 함

· 언어의 다양성에 대해 즐기고 이해할 수 있도록 함

Course Content:

Unit 1 The Natural World(소설의 이해 – 현진건의 소설)

· Exploring Short stories by Hyun Jingeun.

· Literary analysis

· Presentations

· Written responses

Unit 2 How to debate(토론과 주장 – 설득하는 글쓰기)

· Speech each other

· Debating skills

· Writing for persuade

· Searching global issues

Unit 3 All the World’s State(해외 희곡 – 인형의 집)

· Introduction to drama around world

· Oral communication (Drama, presentations, etc.)

· Article writing

Unit 4 Creative writing(창의적 글 쓰기)

· How to write creative article

· Analyze the Noble, Born in 82 ‘Kim Ji Young’
