The YC and YW Science Curriculum and Technology Curriculum   is a series of innovative and comprehensive programs that cover multiple disciplines: biology, chemistry, physics, earth and space science, computer science, and design technology. Specifically,

  •  The YC Science curriculum comprises the following disciplines: Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Earth & Space Science. The YC Technology curriculum comprises: Computer Science and Design Technology. These future-focussed curricula are designed to integrate the best of international curricula from around the world including from China, United States, United Kingdom, European Union, Australia, Singapore and Finland, all of whom are renowned for their education programmes.

  • The YW Science curriculum comprises: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth & Space Science, and Design and Engineering. The YW Information Science and Technology curriculum focuses on Computer Science and Information Technology. This future-focussed curricula are founded on the China National Curriculum while incorporating elements from leading international curricula, ensuring a well-rounded and globally relevant education.

At the core of the Science programme is a commitment to fostering future-ready skills and exposing students to scientific principles, research methods and real-world impact. The Technology programme engages students with emerging and cutting-edge technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), to become proficient with both programming and designing using a range of technologies. By providing a holistic approach to learning, students develop a deep understanding of the interconnectedness of scientific and technological principles and their real-world applications. Through inquiry-based learning, hands-on projects, and research, students are encouraged to observe, question, and explore the world around them. They apply the scientific method, design thinking and other essential tools and frameworks to investigate phenomena, collect and analyse data, draw evidence-based conclusions and construct practical and aesthetic products. This approach not only enhances their scientific and technical knowledge but also cultivates critical thinking, problem-solving, research, design and construction skills that are invaluable in today’s rapidly evolving world.

Throughout the programme, students are encouraged to embrace a growth mindset, fostering resilience, adaptability, and a lifelong love for learning. They develop the confidence to take intellectual risks, connect with experts, learn from failures, and persevere in the face of challenges. By nurturing these future-ready skills alongside a strong foundation in scientific and technological principles, the Science and Technology curricula empower students to become the next generation of scientists, innovators, and responsible global citizens.

As students progress through the curricula, they have opportunities to specialise in areas of personal interest, allowing them to dive deeper into specific scientific and technological disciplines or explore the intersection of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) along with design and entrepreneurial thinking. This flexibility enables students to tailor their learning experience to their unique passions and future aspirations.
