Service Learning

Service-Learning at YCYW focuses on "understanding the issues and challenges facing the world and developing compassionate leaders who can address these problems through positive change in their communities." Our framework cultivates compassionate students equipped with deep thinking tools to serve others from an asset-based perspective. This approach fosters acceptance and equity, with students demonstrating compassion, understanding, and the capacity to create a positive impact within their communities and beyond.

Aligned with the YCYW Learner Portrait, Service-Learning fosters essential character development. Through bilingual learning communities and service projects, students reflect on and act upon their moral responsibilities in a diverse, globalized world. Service-Learning is seamlessly integrated into our curriculum through project-based learning and co-curricular activities. Year 8 students can also participate in SEEDS of Hope Service-Learning projects in Liangshan, China, deepening their commitment to service.
